Awarded Silver in the 39th AOP Awards Food and Drink category, this project is a true labor of love, crafted with passion and creativity.
"Never have I felt such a change in the pace of time as I did during my months-long recovery following brain tumour surgery – a slow journey from hospital bed, to wheelchair, to sofa and finally, to creating art again."
Chloe Hardwick's meticulously-crafted shots recollect countless meals consumed during Chloe's recovery period, from cherry jelly on the ward to sandwiches made by her mum at home. Each candy-coloured dish has a childlike quality, echoing the vulnerability of illness. The series speaks to a universal, shared experience of convalesence, and, personally, marks a cathartic end to the wildest chapter of Chloe's life so far.
