Lizzie Mayson recently moved to the neighbourhood known as ‘Little Portugal’. Situated between Vauxhall and Stockwell, it’s a little slice of Europe right here in London.

Sitting al fresco on a balmy day, the sun high in the sky, a plate of sardines plonked on your lap, a gargantuan wine glass of Vinho Verde, plastic chairs and the chatterings of the locals can’t help but give you that holiday feeling. Through colour and light, Lizzie wanted to transport the viewer, injecting that sense you’re sitting on a side street in Lisbon forgetting about where you came from, just for a minute.
