Sam was invited by the Cubitt House team to join them on a trip to Tuscany. With a firm focus on trusted, local farmers, the trip revolved around a visit to their wine producers. Against the backdrop of rolling vineyards and Tuscan cattle, his photographs trace the group’s encounters with trusted local producers and the rituals of gathering ingredients from the land.

Sam’s images both linger on the details, the textures of seasonal produce, and the small moments of hard work to bring ingredients to life, as well as zooming out, showing the joy and conviviality of cooking with friends.
